Keith Brooking  After coming to Atlanta in the 1998 NFL Draft, Brooking quickly became the foundation of their defense.  Brooking was named to his fifth straight Pro Bowl in 2005 and is one of only a few NFL players to play his entire football career (pee wee to pro) in his home state.  In 2003, Brooking founded The Keith Brooking Children's Foundation. He was inspired by his mother, who was a foster parent while he was growing up, to create a foundation to serve the needs of foster children in metro Atlanta.

Mark Buehrle has pitched for theChicago White Sox since 2000.  In six years, Buehrle pitched over 200 innings as a starter and started the opening game for the White Sox every season from 2002 to 2006.  He is considered an efficient pitcher, pitching quickly and keeping his pitch count low. Buehrle throws a variety of pitches including: fastball, curveball, changeup, slider and cut fastball.  In 2005, Buehrle began the season with a 10-3 record, a 2.58 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP and was selected to the American League All-Star Team. Buehrle threw a no-hitter against the Texas Rangers on April 18th, 2007, only the 16th no-hitter in White Sox history.

Ilya Kovalchuk began his professional career at the RSL club HC Spartak Moscow. He played there for two seasons before entering the NHL. Drafted by Atlanta first overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Ilya Kovalchuk was the first Russian to be drafted first overall in NHL history.  In 2002, Kovalchuk was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team.  In the 2003-04 NHL Season Kovalchuk scored 41 goals, making him a co-winner of the Maurice ‘Rocket’ Richard Trophy after tying for the league lead in goals. Kovalchuk also participated in the 2004 NHL All-Star Game. In the 2005-06, Kovalchuk tied his career-high of 46 assists for a career-high 98 points leading the Atlanta Thrasher in scoring for the second consecutive season. He also became the first Thrashers player to score 50 goals in a season. In early 2006, Kovalchuk was recognized for his charity efforts focusing on unfortunate children in Atlanta and the Philadelphia area. He is also involved in several hockey related charities including "The DiGiacobbe Household," and the "National Boraske Foundation of Economics (NBFE)" which are both stationed in Ridley Park, PA.

Born in Helsinki, Finland, Kari is the goalie for the Atlanta Thrashers and was selected in the 1st round and 2nd overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Danica Patrick (www.danicaracing.com) of Andretti Green Racing  Patrick began go-karting in 1992 at Sugar River Raceway outside Brodhead, Wisconsin and went on to win several national championships. After racing in England and Europe, she joined the Barber Dodge Series, then moved to the Toyota Atlantic Championship.  In 2005, Patrick moved to the IRL IndyCar Series and in 2007 Danica joined Andretti Green Racing, the highest-winning team in the IndyCar Series. Danica’s teammates include a two-time champion of the IndyCar Series and winners of the 2005 and 2007 Indianapolis 500.

Osborne “Ozzie” Smith, is a former shortstop in Major League Baseball, a 13-time Gold Glove Award winner who was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002. In 2003, he was inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. He is widely cited as one of the greatest defensive players of all time, and he carried the nickname "The Wizard of Oz."  Smith's greatest season came in 1987, when he had a .303 batting average, 43 stolen bases, 75 RBIs, 104 runs scored, and 40 doubles.  Smith is only the 37th of the 252 players elected to the Hall of Fame to be so honored in his first year of eligibility.  In 1999, he ranked Number 87 on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players and was nominated as a finalist for the Major League Baseball All-Century Team. Smith is remembered for his acrobatics on the field, a versatile shortstop and for the ritual back flip he performed before opening days, All-Star Games, and postseason games.
